For homeowners

Your insurance company's number isn't always the final number

If your insurance company's settlement offer doesn't cover what repairs actually cost, you don't have to accept it. Most Texas homeowner policies include an "appraisal clause" — a built-in right to have an independent expert re-evaluate the loss. Appraisals DFW handles that process from start to finish.

How it works

Four steps to a fair settlement

01

We review your policy and claim

Send us your insurance company's estimate and denial or settlement letter — within 48 hours we'll provide a free, honest opinion (based on years of experience) to help you decide if appraisal makes sense for your situation.

02

We inspect and document the damage

If you move forward, we complete a full inspection of the property damage (usually with the appraiser appointed by your insurance company) and provide them with an appraisal estimate of the true scope and cost of repairs.

03

We negotiate

We then begin negotiations and advocate for you to get paid the true cost of repairing the damage to your home. In about 95% of cases we are successful, and achieve a significant increase in your insurance settlement.

04

If we can't reach an agreement

In about 5% of cases, we're unable to reach agreement with the insurance company's appraiser. If this happens, we'll meet with you to discuss next steps, which may include involving an Umpire. We will examine all options before making any decisions to ensure that we get the best possible outcome for you.
